You are lost and stuck. You don’t remember how you got here. Every time you try to get out you end up back in the same place. Now you’re wishing that you had left a trail so that you could retrace your steps.
You meet an eccentric creature with whom you feel at ease and in whose company you can relax. You exchange stories and some of the things he says seem muddled. He gives you a hand full of pebbles in a childish way that amuses you.
He appears to have left with ease and you forgot to ask him the way out. You go back to your task of trying to find a way. Suddenly his story seems relevant and you notice you are doing things differently. For the first time, you look up and see a different way forward.
You reach a new place and seem to be stuck again but you are weary so you take a rest. As you wake, you see a group of children throwing skipping stones across a lake. Your handful of pebbles are the perfect shape and you join in.
Your last pebble skips and skips then sinks. The ripples it made lead your eye to the horizon and you begin recognise where you are.
Now you know who you are, who you care about and what you need to do next.
This story tells of skills that are an ancient craft. When such craft is integrated into a natural flow of being, it becomes as magic. That magic is to Don as a drop is to the ocean.
