What is Our Mission?
These two-day intensive courses will quickly help you develop your track driving skills to a very high level. We will build upon the notion that success requires:
- Local knowledge of the particular road or track
- Car control skills
- The ability to manage one's internal state
The courses take place at the Anglesey Performance Driving Centre and use the coaching skills of two of the most experienced driving coaches in the world; Don Palmer and Mark Hales.
Course Aims
The ultimate goal of this course is for you to enjoy your car more by going faster on track. You will gain more control through honing your mental approach to picking and optimising your lines through corners as you develop your technique and minimise your mistakes.
Course Structure and Content
Our masterclass uses the fixed environment of the Anglesey circuit to focus upon the process of optimising your approach to driving any circuit.
We see a lot of people buying the wrong cars and not enjoying them enough. People spend vast fortunes on their cars and almost nothing on themselves.
You will develop strategies that enable you to measure your success as you discover and/or revise the fundamental principles of track driving including:
- The fundamental importance of taking the correct line
- Recognising how you know when you're on the ultimate line
- Simple phases of cornering
- The importance of taking due consideration of road camber as applied to corners
- Recognising situations that are likely to be problematic and learn how to deal with them
- Understanding how the vehicle translates your actions on the controls into the outcomes you desire
- Basic vehicle dynamics (oversteer and understeer)
- Understanding tyres, the language of tyres
- Understanding steering at the limit
- Understanding grip
- The importance of dynamic weight distribution
- Elements of handling at the limit
- Aspects of subtlety applied to controls
- Smoothness
- Heel & toe gear changing
- 'Hinting'
- Effective braking
- Developing your ability to manage your internal mental state that enables you to minimize mistakes
The price of £1995 including VAT includes:
- Personalised training with two Master Drivers and a maximum of only six apprentice drivers per course
- We provide the cars, fuel and insurance
